Hi friend, welcome! My name is Amanda Speights (rhymes with heights…in case you were wondering) and I am so happy you came to visit! Please, take a seat. If you’re a mommy go ahead and lock yourself in a closet or the bathroom so we can get to know one another! Well that sounds a little weird doesn’t it?! Anyhow, moving on…
Most days you will find me probably watching too much TV…HGTV that is, and the Food Network. In my defense however I am 1. folding laundry or cleaning something at the same time 2. just collecting ideas for my future farmhouse or 3. trying to learn how to cook for my southern husband something other than the casseroles, chicken and dumplings or crock-pot meals that us Midwest girls learn to make.
I also spend my time cleaning up after my beautiful (drama queen and YouTuber wannabe) 4-year-old daughter. In addition to my daughter with my current husband, I have a 24-year-old son with my late (a story for another time) husband. Yes, my children are 20 years apart! My husband has two adult children as well from a previous marriage. So between the two of us we have four amazing kiddos! Did I also mention I am a grandma? And a mother-in-law? Yep, life has been quite the journey!
I am an introvert, and no I am neither stuck up nor am I shy. I am growing my relationship with God and I thoroughly love it! I absolutely love rain storms, books, and all things sweet! I am a coffee lover in the am and a wine lover in the pm. Oh and how I love to spend time in the summer on the back of my husband’s Harley!
You’re probably wondering why I created this blog and what it’s all about. Well, I am Marketing Assistant to my amazing Air Force Veteran turned Financial Advisor husband. I love working with him and building the business with him. However, I needed something of my own. I have always loved writing and I have searched for a creative outlet to feed my soul. So here I am! I am here to offer the following to help feed your soul so that you can focus on living in the present, creating peace and happiness for yourself:
- Real Girl Talk About Marriage, Motherhood, Careers, Health etc.
Encouragement and Motivation
Real Practical Tips and Ideas
Reviews of Products, Books etc.
I am completely open to topics you would like to discuss, as well as positive feedback. Notice I said positive? This is a no negativity, no drama mama space! Now, go pour yourself a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and let’s get real about life!
